Environment in Italy: An Overview, 2025 Environmental Data Yearbook is a statistical report that provides an up-to-date and scientifically grounded overview of the state of the environment in Italy.
The document uses more than 300 indicators included in the ISPRA Environmental Indicators Database to provide official information for policy makers, administrators, technical experts, and citizens.
Compared with the previous edition, the body of information has been expanded with an additional theme dedicated to technical and scientific infrastructures supporting environmental monitoring and with new indicators.
The report analyses environmental phenomena by highlighting their systemic relationships in order to provide an overall view of environmental conditions across the country. The main objectives are to describe the state of the environment, increase knowledge on environmental issues, assess the effectiveness of environmental protection policies and strengthen the response capacity of institutions.
