Le mappe di SPI sono fornite su quattro aree:

• ITALIA: area del bollettino prototipale sviluppato entro il progetto europeo INTERREG IIC-Siccità
• EUROPA: prima estensione realizzata entro il progetto europeo INTERREG IIIB-SEDEMED
• MEDITERRANEO: area corrispondente al dominio del modello meteorologico BOLAM del Sistema Idro-Meteo-Mare (SIMM)
• CADSES: area interregionale europea del programma CADSES (Central European Adriatic Danubian South-Eastern European Space), in cui si colloca il progetto HYDROCARE (Hydrological Cycle of the CADSES Region).

The SPI maps are available over four areas:

• ITALIA: area of the prototypal bulletin, covering Italy, developed in the framework of the EU project INTERREG IIC-Drought;
• EUROPA: first extension of the bulletin over the Europe area carried out within the EU project INTERREG IIIB-SEDEMED
• MEDITERRANEO: area corresponding to the domain (the Mediterranean Basin) of the meteorological model BOLAM of the Hydro-Meteo-Marine Forecasting System (SIMM)
• CADSES: transnational cooperation area of the EU programme CADSES (Central European Adriatic Danubian South-Eastern European Space), wherein is developed the EU project HYDROCARE (Hydrological Cycle of the CADSES Region).
