Final Workshop of the EU project "PAWA - Pilot Arno Water Accounts"

The Final Workshop of the European project "PAWA - Pilot Arno Water Accounts" will be held in Florence on Monday, March 30th, at the Sala Caterina in Hotel Villa Medici  in Florence.

The PAWA project is funded by the Directorate General Environment of the European Commission. The PAWA leader partner is ISPRA, and the main partners are the Arno River Basin Authority and the international body SEMIDE. The project has carried out a pilot initiative for the application at basin scale of the water accounting system SEEA-Water. The SEEA-Water system,
created by the Statistics Division of the United Nations, is currently being used by the European Commission for the calculation of the water accounts at European scale.

During the Workshop will be presented the results achieved thanks to the cooperation and active participation of the institutions involved and of a large number of stakeholders present and operating in the three target studied areas of the Arno basin: the Bisenzio valley, the Chiana valley and the area of ​​Pisa. The workshope will describe the production the SEEA-Water tables, the optimal measures to be integrated in the management planning, their effects on the improvement of water resources efficiency and the impact on those aspects of climate change,and also the related activities carried out at European and national level.
