To date, the project has enabled the recovery of more than 22 tonnes of lost fishing gear through 24 recovery operations, during which 156 items of fishing gear were removed, including gillnets, trawl nets, traps and longlines, found at depths ranging from 8 to 40 metres.
The event will provide an opportunity for institutions, researchers and industry professionals to exchange views, share the results achieved and highlight the importance of inter-institutional cooperation. FAO will also present a video on the recovery of lost fishing gear along the Moroccan coast, carried out in collaboration with the STRONG SEA project.
The event will be held in person, upon registration.
