The Hackathon calls on young talents (students, recent graduates, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers) to develop prototypes, mock-ups, and innovative solutions based on the Copernicus services CAMS (Air Quality) and C3S (Climate Change).
This year, in addition to the protection of Cultural Heritage, the focus is expanded to include the theme of Health, with the aim of generating innovative ideas capable of addressing global environmental challenges. Participants will present their work to the jury in the form of prototypes, mock-ups, infographics, dashboards, or project concepts, which will then be evaluated to determine the winners.
The event will be conducted entirely in English.
The initiative is supported by the Horizon EU project SD-WISHEES and involves the active participation of private partners, who will offer the winners professional coaching experiences.
The initiative originates within the framework of the cooperation activities foreseen in the Memorandum of Understanding between ECMWF and Italy, signed in October 2022, and is supported by the partnerships of the national initiatives launched by Italy, Germany, Norway, Portugal, and Spain with ECMWF in the context of the National Collaboration Programmes of CAMS and C3S.
Registrations can be completed by filling out the dedicated form: Hackathon Environmental Intelligence for Cultural Heritage and Health.
Registration will be open until 20 April 2026. A maximum of 30 participants will be admitted, selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
