Forests and Biodiversity. Too precious to lose. The answers to the most frequently asked questions

2020 has been referred to as a “Nature Super Year” by United Nations with the goal it could be the year where we turn the tide on deforestation and forestry loss.

United Nations 8th International Forestry Day is celebrated on 21st March 2020, this year connections between forests and the rich biodiversity they support have been highlighted.

The health of our ecosystems was declining at unprecedented speed and species extinction rates were accelerating. We must act quickly to reverse this. Safeguarding forests is part of the solution.

The document produced by ISPRA mainly address media and general public and its aim is to provide data and information to put in evidence the concept that forests and biodiversity are "too precious to lose”.
