The Report on Waste from Economic Activities, now in its twenty-fourth edition, is the result of a complex activity of collection, analysis and processing of data by the National Centre for Waste and Circular Economy of ISPRA, with the contribution of regional and provincial Environmental Protection Agencies. The Report implements a specific task required by article 189, of legislative decree. n. 152 of 3th April 2006.

The Report implements a specific task required by article 189, of legislative decree. n. 152 of 3th April 2006.

The fourth report on the contaminated sites management at regional level, presents data on administrative and technical procedures updated to 01/01/2024. This update is based on data provided by Regional and Autonomous Provincial authorities, as well as Environmental Protection Agencies, as part of the 2024 population of MOSAICO, the national database on remediation procedures.

This report presents the results of an interlaboratory comparison aimed at evaluating the performance of the participating laboratories in the taxonomic identification of benthic diatoms in surface water bodies.

The construction sector plays a strategic role in the country’s economic development but also exhibits significant potential for improvement in terms of mitigating its environmental impacts, particularly in construction site management.

The report The State of the Environment in Italy 2025: Indicators and Analysis, produced by the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), provides an updated and integrated overview of the main environmental dynamics in the country. The analysis is based on a selection of indicators drawn from the ISPRA Environmental Indicators Database ( https://indicatoriambientali.isprambiente.it/it ).

The third report on the contaminated sites management at regional level, presents data on administrative and technical procedures updated to 31/12/2021 based on data provided by the Regions/Autonomous Provinces/Environmental Protection Agencies as part of the 2022 population of MOSAICO, the national database on remediation procedures.

Working Programme ISPRA/ARPA: Ostreopsis cf. ovata blooms along the italian coasts. The presence of the potentially toxic dinoflagellate Ostreopsis ovata (Fukuyo) has been observed along the Italian coast since the ‘90s. From then, intense and recurrent blooms of this seaweed alga occurred in several locations of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Adriatic Sea. The presence of the microalgae O. ovata was detected in all the Italian coastal regions but Emilia-Romagna and Molise.

The Municipal Waste Report, now in its twenty-seventh edition, with data updated to 2024 on the production, separate waste collection, management, and import/export flows of urban waste and packaging at the national, regional, and provincial levels, was developed by ISPRA's National Waste and Circular Economy Center, with the contribution of local environmental agencies. It offers a comprehensive and objective framework to support legislators in guiding policies and interventions, monitoring their effectiveness, and introducing any corrective measures.

The volume, tenth and last in the series dedicated to the study of some of the Italian fruit varieties, deals with the case studies of Marche and Tuscany. For both regions, in the initial chapters, historical notes are provided relating to fruit growing, agricultural landscape, and the various initiatives aimed at the recovery, protection and valorisation of genetic resources still present in the form of fruit varieties that are rarely grown and at risk of disappearing.

Technical notebook 31/2024 details a list of best practices relating to radon prevention and reduction interventions in closed environments, compatible with energy efficiency interventions and in accordance with the National Radon Action Plan (PNAR).

Technical booklet 32/2024 defines technical and behavioral indications for the management of indoor air quality pollutants. in residential environments and in particular for the reduction of radon levels, in accordance with the National Radon Action Plan (PNAR) These environments include homes, offices, community, recreational and social facilities in which the population spends much of its time and which can therefore be more exposed to pollutants which, remaining within closed spaces, are able to reach high concentrations.
