2022 Strait Earthquake Exercise: new test for the IT-Alert public alarm system
This morning twenty-two coastal municipalities of the provinces of Reggio Calabria and Messina will be protagonists for a new test of IT-Alert, the public alarm system - currently in an experimental phase - designed with the aim of reaching citizens directly and sending them useful messages. in case of major emergencies or imminent or ongoing catastrophic events.

ISPRA participates in the exercise, in accordance with the provisions of the National Seismic Risk Rescue Program, as a Center of competence of the Civil Protection Department, carrying out technical-scientific support activities in assessing the induced risks and residual risk on the territory, with particular reference to the survey of the geological effects induced by the earthquake, to the verification of geo-hydrological compatibility of sites and to activities aimed at protecting the environment
