  • Execution of 5 monthly fishing campaigns of Gobbetto striato (Plesionika edwardsii (Brandt, 1851)) in two different macro-areas of north western Sardinia, between Capo Marangiu and Asinara Island.
  • Using, for 50% of the fishing equipment, of fishing pots coated with an extruded bioplastic net to introduce an innovative tool whose intrinsic biodegradability could represent a mitigation factor of the environmental risk linked to the accidental dispersion of plastic material in the marine environment.
  • Performing scientific analyses on the catch to compare the yields in weight and abundance of the target species between traditional and biodegradable fishing pots, as well as their effective selectivity, both in terms of catch size of the target species and the presence of other species living there.
  • Analysis and data processing, to allow the study of fishing yields and length-weight and size-age relationships.
  • Realization of n. 5 video pills and n. 1 documentary on the introduction of deep-sea pots for the diversification of fishing activities and the innovation of this fishing equipment thanks to the use of biodegradable material.
  • Awareness and information actions, through the organization of n. 2 days, at Porto Torres and Alghero harbour offices, to inform fishermen of the results of the project, with particular regard to the innovations proposed and the perspectives those can offer for the purpose of sustainable fishing.
  • Awareness and information actions for the Institutions and the main trade organizations.
