Participatory tools for climate risk management in urban areas
The booklet has a dual purpose:
-
To inform citizens about the two topics of climate change and public participation, following a technical and sociological approach to risk.
-
To promote participatory processes in urban areas, in order to share local knowledge and give all citizens the opportunity to co-design and co-manage policies and interventions at the local level.
In particular, the publication provides readers with scientific knowledge on the topic of climate risk in Italy, with a detailed focus on policies and measures to address climate change. It also introduces the theme of public participation, describing the main participatory tools used in Europe and Italy. The final part of the work presents an exploratory survey, conducted using qualitative social research techniques, in the provincial capitals and autonomous provinces of Italy.
