In 1996, the historic center of the town of Pienza was inserted on the UNESCO World Heritage List, according to the principle of ideal town which made Pienza, a masterpiece of human creative genius.The Municipality of Pienza proposes for the 2016 a lot of initiatives to commemorate the 20th anniversary of UNESCO recognition. Next March 19 there will be the begin for formal celebrations, attended by many of the representatives of 51 Italian UNESCO sites.
