The Northern Adriatic basin has specific features compared to other sides of Italian sea. Current studies show that the consequences of climate change are more important on the Northern Adriatic  because the shallow sea, subject to strong inflows of fresh water and resulting a “ road without exit” for the northern species sensitive to high temperatures.

This increased environmental awareness requires more detailed knowledge, regular monitoring and adaptation and management measures. This meeting aims focus on the most valuable areas of the Northern Adriatic, such as Tegnue, that in a couple of Venetians cases have been recognized as Sites of Community Importance (SCI). An ISPRA expert will participate at the conference.
