The purpose behind Environmental Culture Week is to highlight the role of the environment as a strategic factor in social-economic development.
Towards this goal, it will bring together all those actively involved in environmental issues – the general public, government bodies and private organizations.
The Eighth National Conference of Environmental Agencies has offered a chance to reflect on how these agencies work  in Italy and effort to spread awareness of environmental issues to provide guidance in local planning, business strategies and public consciousness. The debate over the spread of environmental awareness has been enhanced by an international  workshop whose contextual reference has been enlarged to include the Euro-Mediterranean area.
The International Conference on the Sea and Coastline Environment in the Euro-Mediterranean area brought together public and private bodies involved with the sea and its scope has been to analyse, from a technical and economic standpoint, those environmental issues connected with sea transport, port activity and an integrated approach to coastline management.
Speakers will include representatives of European Community agencies, national and local organizations, research bodies and companies involved in various aspects of  environmental protection.
