The report offers an integrated interpretation of the phenomena, combining information at the local (regional and/or provincial) level with an overall national view. Thus, it provides an updated overview of the SNPA's activities in managing environmental aspects related to emergency situations.

The report's data shows that, in 2024 alone, over 2,000 SNPA agencies were activated in emergency situations following man-made or natural events that impacted the environment. This significant number, however, represents only a fraction of the actual phenomenon, as the Agency's activation is not always requested by the local authorities responsible for managing the emergency. Nevertheless, these data confirm the strategic importance of the SNPA's actions in emergency situations, so much so that they are among the first activities of the National System to be studied and evaluated to define the minimum level of performance to be guaranteed throughout the country.
