The initiative, promoted by Senator Pietro Lorefice, focuses on three new cartographic products of great technical and scientific importance, which update and deepen the geological knowledge of strategic areas of the national territory. The press conference will feature interventions by the Director General of ISPRA, Maria Siclari, and the project manager of the CARG Project, Maria Teresa Lettieri.

The sheets presented represent a significant step in the completion of Italy’s official geological cartography. The surveys integrated into the new publications include high-resolution stratigraphic, structural, and geomorphological data, resulting from field campaigns as well as 3D modeling techniques and state-of-the-art GIS tools. These data allow a detailed understanding of the geological evolution of the three areas, with direct implications for territorial planning, seismic and geomorphological hazard assessment, water resource management, and disaster prevention.

The conference thus constitutes an important institutional moment to present the latest results of the CARG Project and to highlight the strategic value of geological knowledge in environmental policies and territorial safety.
