In this context, the SETAC Europe 36th Annual Meeting took place in Maastricht, the The Netherlands, from 17 to 21 May 2026, focusing on the theme “Embrace the Outlier: In Science, Regulations and Networks”.
The event attracted very high participation and strong interest from the international scientific and regulatory community, confirming its role as one of the leading European forums for advancing environmental sustainability.
Experts from the Hazardous Substances Unit (DG-TEC) contributed to the official programme through the development of three works, which were published in the related abstract book:
- Advancing Integrated Sustainability Assessment of chemicals: combining LCA, Risk Analysis and Tools for Safer Industrial Processes;
- How to: Integration of Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships into the Safe and Sustainable by Design Framework;
- Trifluoroacetic Acid (TFA) in the Environment: Multiple Sources, Environmental Trends, and Regulatory Challenges
