Risk scenarios in the Ibleo territorial system
On June 9 and 10, in Ragusa, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will hold the event organized to conclude the celebrations for the twenty-fifth anniversary of its establishment.
Two days dedicated to scientific research and protection of the territory organized in a geographical and geological context of extraordinary complexity, the Iblean territory, a hinge between Africa and Europe, characterized by a long geodynamic history that makes it the scene of seismic, erosive and hydrogeological phenomena unique in the Mediterranean.

The two-day program will address some of the most current and relevant issues for the Iblean territory: seismic risk and prevention, with the presentation of the Urban Seismic Observatory (OSU); marine intrusion into coastal aquifers and impacts on Ragusa greenhouse cultivation; plastic pollution and coastal erosion; population warning systems in the event of extreme events.
