Municipal Waste Report - edition 2025 - Synthesis
The Urban Waste Report, now in its twenty-seventh edition, with data updated to 2024 on the production, separate waste collection, management, and import/export flows of urban waste and packaging at the national, regional, and provincial levels, was developed by ISPRA's National Waste and Circular Economy Center, with the contribution of local environmental agencies. It offers a comprehensive and objective framework to support legislators in guiding policies and interventions, monitoring their effectiveness, and introducing any corrective measures.

Efficiency and decarbonization indicators in Italy and in the biggest European Countries – Edition 2025
National trends of energy and economic indicators have been analysed in relation to greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption. The analysis of efficiency and decarbonisation indicators at sectoral level was also carried out, with particular attention to sub-sectors of industry. The role of driving factors for GHGs trends has been analyzed, such as economic growth, fossil and renewable energy, transformation efficiency, carbon and energy intensities.

CO 2 emissions in the national and regional power sector
The report examines the dynamics of the main parameters of the national power sector in relation to carbon dioxide emissions. The role of the factors that determine the trend of greenhouse gas emissions was analysed: mix of fossil and renewable sources, transformation efficiency and fuel- specific emission factors. Emission factors for greenhouse gases and other air pollutants due to electricity generation were carried out. Moreover, the emission factors for electricity demand are developed.

Report on Marine Protected Areas for oil spill prevention and response at sea
Based on a comparative review of eleven Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) participating in the CIMA (Contrasto agli Inquinamento Marini Accidentali) (Countering Accidental Marine Pollutions) Project, the report provides an in-depth and contemporary analysis on the areas of improvement of MPAs' capacity to support the competent authorities in the national response system to accidental pollution, also in the light of the current legislation on Marine Protected Areas.
