Environment in Italy: an overview. Environmental Data Yearbook 2022 is a statistical report produced by ISPRA with the aim of providing policy makers, public administrators, technicians and citizens with official information on the state of the environment in our country.
The report outlines a precise picture of the health conditions of the various environmental components and their interrelations, through more than 300 indicators of the Environmental indicators database. Like the Database, the report is the result of the collection, monitoring and control activities carried out by the Institute, in cooperation with regional environmental protection agencies and autonomous provinces within the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA).
The document presents each indicator with its description, purpose, graph or map, time coverage and comments that define, where possible, the state and trend. In addition, key statistical information and data are reported, as well as symbolic references (e.g. relevant SDGs; Green Deal; DPSIR; Quality of information; Legislative targets).
