Aliens: The Invasive Species Bulletin Newsletter of the IUCN/SSC Invasive Species Specialist Group. N.33/2013

 

 

The cover of this issue of Aliens, whose graphic design has been completely renewed, features the 100th of 'the Worlds Worst Invasive Alien Species' Giant Salvinia (Salvinia molesta) which has been the object of a recent ISSG communication campaign (see main article of p. 9) whose result has been featured also in Nature. Among the other featured articles in this issue you will find the management of the impacts of feral camels in Australia (p. 12) and the of the extremely invasive cactus: Hudson pear Cylindropuntia rosea in Spain (p. 23), the succesful eradication of goats from Aldabra Atoll (p. 18) and of feral cats from Dassen Island in Africa (p. 35). The issue include also the description of new alien species, as well as new publication and initiatives on IAS.
