The discussions covered a broad agenda, including key topics for the protection of the marine environment: marine geoengineering (MGE), geological CO₂ sequestration beneath the seabed, guidelines for the management of end-of-life fiberglass vessels, management of dredged materials and their use within the circular economy, environmental monitoring, marine litter and plastics, underwater noise, and debris from space launches.
The Italian delegation ensured a qualified and proactive presence, providing technical and scientific contributions on numerous agenda items, thereby reinforcing Italy’s role as an authoritative and constructive stakeholder.
