ISPRA experts coordinators of supporting scientific groups of International Maritime Organization

The last meeting of the scientific groups that, within the International Maritime Organization, support the implementation of the Convention and the London Protocol by the signatory states of these agreements, took place in virtual mode from March 28 to 1 last April.

An ISPRA researcher has been tasked with coordinating the working group that has to review guidelines on best practices in the removal of antifouling coatings from ships, including cybutrin (Irgarol 1051) in addition to TBT (tributyl tin).

Another researcher of the Institute will coordinate the working group in charge of evaluating possible geoengineering activities to combat climate change to be included in Annex 4 of the London Protocol.
