The HANDY Project continues in Puglia, “Strengthen the specialist skills of the emergency services to respond to climate change events”
Funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021/2027 Programme, the HANDY Project has as its main objective the standardization of the specialized training of the Italian and Croatian Civil Protection operational forces, to ensure a harmonized approach to intervention procedures in the event of natural disasters, such as oil spills at sea, fires, earthquakes and floods. In this context, ISPRA has been tasked with training volunteers on the management of environmental emergencies at sea and along the coast, with particular attention to coastal contamination assessment techniques (SCAT), intervention strategies and techniques, as well as risk scenarios.
