The Paleontological Collections are an important cultural, scientific and historical heritage. Their arrangement, in the exhibition halls of the historical museum of the Geological Service in Largo S. Susanna, has enabled scholars and visitors to appreciate the evolution of animal and plant forms, from ancient to recent, many of which are today extinct. It should be considered that, being mainly ancient collections of studies, their arrangement in historical showcases follows a method used in previous centuries. The basic principle was to  show the whole “collection” without specifications or detailed explanations to accompany the few and significant finds, as is imposed in modern museums. The latter exhibition method  was temporarily used in the exhibition areas of the APAT office on Via Curtatone no. 3.
