Getting to Know the Sea to Protect Our Health

Science at the Service of Citizens. The PNC ACeS project brings together Environment, Climate, and Health to build a more informed and sustainable future.

As part of the PNC ACeS (Environment, Climate and Health) project, a public Citizen Science event will take place on 23 July at Rambla Natural Beach in Maccarese (Rome, Italy).

The project aims to implement the Protocol on Water and Health and to develop a risk assessment methodology for bathing waters, based on preventive principles and the One Health approach.

The objective of the event is to promote the One Health concept by highlighting the inseparable connection between human health, the protection of the marine environment, and the conservation of biodiversity.

The event will include hands-on sampling workshops for both children and adults, giving participants the opportunity to actively engage in scientific activities and learn more about the importance of monitoring and protecting coastal ecosystems.
