During the morning session, ISPRA will present the reporting data from the third-cycle River Basin Management Plans required under the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC (WFD), providing an updated overview of the conditions of national water bodies. The analysis will cover the ecological and chemical status of surface waters, as well as the chemical and quantitative status of groundwater.
The reporting data represent an important knowledge base to support decision-making processes and to promote a structured dialogue among institutions, district basin authorities, regions, the scientific community, and stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening institutional coordination and fostering an integrated approach to water resources governance
