Joint Transnational Call 2025 pre-announcement "Water & Health"

Funding organisations from 31 countries across Europe and beyond are pleased to announce the upcoming Joint Transnational Call 2025, focused on research and innovation projects on the theme "Water and Health."

The initiative, launched within the framework of the Water4All Partnership, aims to support projects that strengthen long-term water security and promote sustainable, evidence-based water management. The expected outcomes should contribute to the implementation of European and international strategies and policies, including the Green Deal, the Water Framework Directive (WFD), the Just Transition Mechanism, the UN Water Action Agenda, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Proposals must take into account relevant legal and policy frameworks at national and international levels, and should align with the thematic scope outlined in Theme IV ("Water and Health") of the Water4All Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). Projects must address at least one of the following topics:

  1. Waterborne contaminants & health risks: occurrence, behaviour, interactions, and vulnerabilities
  2. Innovative tools and technologies for water quality and exposure monitoring
  3. Water treatment and exposure mitigation
  4. Governance, socio-economic innovation, and policy integration in the water and health nexus
