Water4All Project at UNEA-6

The Water4All Project has been presented by ISPRA at the Sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly UNEA-6, (Nairobi 26 th February-1 March) during the Side Event “Shaping a water resilient world, with water security for all” organized by the European Commission. The main objective of ISPRA participation was to raise awareness on Water4All Project’s objectives and contribution for building a global water resilient society, by providing strong and solid knowledge,
tools and concrete basis for decision making and policy process. UNEA-6 with the main theme “multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution” focused the discussions on the contribution of multilateralism in addressing the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss , pollution and waste. A unique opportunity for the Water4All project to hold meetings with key global Institutions and Initiatives among which UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation) and the WWQA (World Water Quality Alliance) with the aim of strengthening cooperation in activities to be carried out within their respective fields of actions.
Bilateral meetings with high level representatives of involved Countries were held, such as the Ethiopian and Kenyan delegates and with the Ambassador of Italy to Kenya but also with Kenyan NGOs to discuss about potential synergies on capacity-building activities.
