Publication of the 2025 Joint Transnational Call on “Water and Health”

On 12 September 2025, the 2025 Joint Transnational Call on “Water and Health  was published, promoted within the framework of the European partnership Water4All.

The initiative involves funding agencies from 31 countries, both European and non-European, and aims to support Research and Innovation (R&I) projects to strengthen long-term water security and promote a sustainable, science-based management of water resources.

Deadline for the submission of preliminary proposals: 13 November 2025, 3:00 p.m. (CET).

The call for proposals aims to generate concrete results in support of key European and international strategies and policies, including the Green Deal, the Water Framework Directive, the Just Transition, the UN Water Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Thematic Areas

Project proposals must fall within the framework of Theme IV – “Water and Health” of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of Water4All, and address at least one of the following areas:

  • Water-related contaminants and health risks: study of presence, behaviour, interactions and vulnerabilities.
  • Innovative tools and technologies for monitoring water quality and exposure.
  • Water treatment and mitigation of exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Governance and socio-economic innovation for the integration of water and health policies.
