Software ROCKS

Software ROCKS (Risk Ordering for Contamination Key Sites) is the application developed by ISPRA for implementing the “National Priority Criteria for Action on Potentially Contaminated Sites” within the Regional Plans for the remediation of polluted areas, in accordance with Article 199, paragraph 6 of Legislative Decree 152/06.

The software aims to provide a simple and user-friendly tool for the guided entry of the criteria set out in the Operational Manual of the National Priority Criteria for Action on Potentially Contaminated Sites” (ISPRA Manual 209/2025) and for determining the priority order of sites to be ranked at the regional/provincial/local level, based on the methodology shared nationally by the Technical Working Group, which includes Regions, Autonomous Provinces, ARPA/APPA and other public administrations.

Data entry is guided by the software, which is capable of flagging errors, inconsistencies, and missing data, ensuring a “user-friendly” experience.

The software is on-premise and allows for multi-user installation, enabling remote access by multiple users within the regional intranet domain. However, some administrative information is preloaded in a cloud environment and is periodically updated.

Version 1.3 has been validated by the Technical Working Group and tested by a restricted Working Group (Regions/ARPA/Extraordinary Commissioner for the Jubilee of the Catholic Church 2025) to verify its applicability across different territorial contexts.
