Monitoraggio della popolazione mediterranea di Fenicottero
Il fenicottero rappresenta per le zone umide del Mediterraneo una specie-bandiera di significato probabilmente ineguagliabile.
Al monitoraggio di questa specie, mediante censimenti e marcaggi individuali rilevabili a distanza, è dedicato un progetto internazionale che coinvolge tutti i Paesi mediterranei e che fa capo alla Stazione Biologica della Tour du Valat in Francia. ISPRA garantisce il coordinamento per l’Italia.
Obiettivi
Studiare la demografia della popolazione; studiare gli spostamenti tra colonie; proporre adeguate forme di gestione ambientale; mantenere in efficienza una rete di rilevamento in gran parte operativa a titolo volontaristico, unica per completezza a livello mediterraneo ed utilizzabile anche per altre forme di monitoraggio ambientale
