Geological Field Trips and Maps Geological Field Trips and Maps (GFT&M) è una nuova rivista on-line che pubblica esclusivamente guide di escursioni geologiche presentate in occasione di convegni e congressi attinenti le Scienze della Terra, un patrimonio culturale che spesso rimane conosciuto dai soli partecipanti all’evento. La rivista è edita congiuntamente dal Servizio Geologico d’Italia - ISPRA e dalla Società Geologica Italiana , che ne garantiscono serietà e rigore scientifico, e nasce nell’ambito di una Convenzione stipulata di recente tra le due Istituzioni. La nuova modalità di presentazione on-line consente di rivolgersi ad un pubblico sempre più ampio, con l’intento di diffondere e rendere fruibili diversi itinerari in aree di grande interesse geologico. Negli ultimi anni l’esperienza e la fondamentale attività di rilevamento geologico stanno subendo un pericoloso rallentamento e i geologi svolgono sempre meno attività di terreno. GFT vuole pertanto contribuire a stimolare il ritorno alle ricerche sul campo, ma anche permettere a chi non può recarsi ovunque di avere una visione diretta delle aree che forniscono informazioni importanti sia di carattere regionale che di dettaglio. L’intento della Rivista è anche quello di divulgare ad un vasto pubblico, sia nazionale che internazionale, la geologia con maggiori informazioni “di campagna” di quanto sia stato finora possibile. Lo staff editoriale è composto da specialisti di diverse discipline che operano su tutto il territorio nazionale e non, e accoglie le ricerche effettuate anche all’estero sia di autori italiani che stranieri. La collaborazione tra Servizio Geologico d’Italia e Società Geologica Italiana prevede la pubblicazione di un unico Bollettino dei due Enti, con i due relativi logotipi, curato dalla Società Geologica Italiana, “L' Italian Journal of Geosciences ” (IJG), che rappresenta la fusione del Bollettino della Società Geologica Italiana, edito sin dal 1882, e il Bollettino del Servizio Geologico d’Italia, edito sin dal 1870. https://www.isprambiente.gov.it/it/pubblicazioni/periodici-tecnici/geological-field-trips https://www.isprambiente.gov.it/logo.png
