ISPRA and SNPA at the Rimini Meeting 2026

This year, from 21 to 26 August, ISPRA and the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA) will take part in the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, to be held at the Rimini Exhibition Centre. SNPA will be present with an exhibition area within the institutional space of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE), offering meetings, information materials and in-depth insights on environmental protection, environmental monitoring and inspection activities, and scientific research aimed at safeguarding the country's natural environment.

For COP17, the Italian Pavilion is hosting a schedule of events dedicated to key global challenges related to desertification, land degradation, and drought.

Alien Species in Our Seas

The Mediterranean Sea is becoming increasingly populated by alien species introduced through human activities such as maritime shipping, aquaculture, and the aquarium trade, as well as through artificial waterways like the Suez Canal. It is also receiving species that are expanding their natural range and entering through natural corridors such as the Strait of Gibraltar. Climate change and environmental alterations facilitate the establishment of these new species, some of which can become invasive and cause significant harm to the environment, the economy, and human health.

RemTech Expo is the only international and permanent Environmental Technology Hub specializing in the remediation, regeneration, and sustainable development of territories.
